Very much depends on what takes your fancy I have recently purchased a Samsung 22 inch following advice from a couple of my friends who have had them for some time and I have now traveled to Cook town and back along the bruce highway and it worked very well all the way even survived the Bruce hwy.

Ours is a TEAC 22inch DVD/TV. We have these in the house as well as the caravan now. I like the DVD/TV combo's, if there is nothing to watch on TV, because of poor reception or reruns, then you can watch DVD's instead.

Most big name brands seem to travel OK in vans these days. I have a 32 cm Teac LED/DVD 12 Volt and a friend has just purchased a Hitachi from Big W at a good price.Also with a built in DVD.
12 volt via a 240 transformer so a direct 12 volt supply would be an option.
A lot of the newer LED TV's also support a USB port so you can use an external hard drive to record programs or get movies from friends to play.
.. a few friends of mine have purchased this brand and quite happy with them .. I will soon look to upgrade as well and feel these are best suited for my requirements
Try and check out the sound quality before you buy as some (including our Sollys el cheapo) have speakers as big as a milk bottle top.....very tinny.

I recently bought a TEAC 24" TV/DVD for the 5th wheeler and quite happy with it. Bought it from JB HiFi with 3 yr warranty so if I have any trouble with it while travelling I can (supposedly) return it to any JB HiFi store.

I would check that a TV runs on straight 12 volt so no transformer needed to run off battery. I have 2 Kogans and they have been good, but small speakers as someone mentioned. I think the Aldi ones are ok too but check they run on 12v DC. Cheaper ones seem to work quite well and with technology changing, I can throw them away and update without pain.
