Just figures. Finally on our way north and the weather is turning. Was beautiful and sunny here in Yeppoon this morn. Not so nice now

I live in Cairns and there's been mostly sunshine with a very slight breeze and not enough rain to get wet. The panic merchants delivering the weather reports call everything a cyclone these days. My brother lives in the Daintree and there's nothing happening up there either.
Perfect time of the year to be here.

Supposed to cross the Coast up around the Portland Roads area, a long way north of Cairns, then go across to the Gulf. Of course they are quite often unpredictable. Look at the route Tracy took, in 1974.
And Kathy went all the way across to Borroloola and nearly wiped it out ten years later in '84, from just south of us at Temple Bay, where we'd had Jim, about 3 weeks before.
'Round about this time of year too, give or take a week or two.
Cyclone forming on the last day of the Cyclone Season
