We finally headed off on our planned trip to S.A. about a week and a bit ago, after a delay of 10 weeks, caused because unfortunately, when my husband was on his way home from some shopping just prior to our departure, another vehicle came full speed out of a road on our left causing serious damage to our car. The good news is that my hubby wasn't seriously injured (I wasn't in the car at the time) but the car, which is our towing vehicle was a mess. Anyway, it was finally returned from the repairers and we were on our way.
Left the south coast of NSW and we are now at Burra in SA, having spent some time at Darlington Point, Hay, Trentham Cliffs (near Mildura), then a spot on the Murray near Waikerie. We plan to spend some time exploring the Flinders Ranges and hope to also visit the Yorke Peninsula. If anyone knows of some pleasant camping places to spend some time we would be very appreciative.
Safe and happy travels to all - and of course - Happy Mothers Day! Annie

Well done Happy Daze. Hope all goes well with your trip from now on. We loved Yorke Peninsular when we visited this time last year. Some wet and cold days, but it wasn't crowded. So you should be able to find a spot to camp at any time. We stayed in Moonta for genealogy reasons (CP was good but not cheap) then based ourselves in Minlaton where it was cheaper and travelled daily out from there. It's not a big peninsular so was easy day trips. There were some nice free camp spots but type in the search button and you should find other posts on them. Briche has been given a lot of suggestions as they are in SA at the moment. Enjoy the Flinders too. We did it ages ago but seems there have been a lot of changes since we were there. You good do a search on that too. All the best.
