Hi all. This message just appeared on my Facebook page by a concerned grand daughter. I figured if anyone could possibly help it would be nomad travelers Elyce Bonavita 7 hours ago · Can everyone on the road please keep an eye out for my grandparents. Ralph (83) and Norma (77) Prestage last seen driving a white Toyota land cruiser (QYF-531) towing a camper van two weeks ago (27/4) heading to coober pedy SA but didn't arrive and have had no contact since they left two weeks ago. Further info from their daughter - They were heading to Adelaide, Port Augusta, Coober Pedy, Alice Springs then over to QLD, but they may have changed their minds and gone another way, as that's what my father can sometimes do, they were talking about going along the Birdsville track, wanting to see the Oodnadatta pub.
1800 333 000 or your nearest Police station if you've seen this couple.

Hey Beth.... Their grand daughter has said the they didn't take this van this time. They have a pop top. See below.
Elyce Bonavita Anth hayden, not sure what route they took. They don't tell us which way they driver. That's not the caravan they are currently towing, they took a pop up caravan this trip. They left from Melbourne. Aunties have checked all caravan parks and places there and found nothing. Not sure which ones they did or didn't check. Either way something can't be right, not hearing from grandma on mother's day and her not calling on of her daughters is very strange. Thank you everyone, we all appreciate it so much!

On the other side of the coin, my sis and bil don't advertise on FB where they are, in case someone realised their home is empty. Understandable I guess, but with the privacy settings, it would only be family and friends who know they're away. But they are very good at keeping in touch with their kids while away. And if they know they're going into a black hole, they tell them in advance.

Apparently they have been found safe and well in Alice springs. I got the info off missing persons. Great news. If you happen to see them remind them how much they are loved and that Australia was look
just to let every one know that my parents have been found safe in alice springs, thanks you all so much for your help.

This is not good, I hope they are safe and well. Just another reason at our age to make sure someone has an idea of plans and any changes however minor.

That is one thing about being a regular on here - people do notice if you are missing for a while - and we all mostly post where we are heading, and where we are -, a good thing!!!!

Great to hear they have been found so quickly. As I said on facebook, that is why I always update my whereabouts on my facebook page, I can do it through my phone. Don't always have my laptop connected. That way if someone is worried there will be someone else who will have seen my post. Do not travel without keeping in touch when ever you can.

I think we all are relieved these LOST PEOPLE have been located, but inretrespect i believe we have a duty to our family/ friends/ to at least show some compasion towards your loved ones and let them know your ok/ your doing ok/ where you are / where your heading/ we always let our kids know also when we think we maybe out of phn / internet contact for and if no contact from us in say two days after due date of contact , contact the police as Yes some thing has unforseen happened . We have often called into police stations and rang the kids to let them know we are ok.

Great networking fellow nomads. It's great someone cared enough about these people to raise the alarm. It was a great outcome. I don't think my kids give a flying fig where I am at any given time. I let them know anyway in case they do generate an interest. One text out of a possible 3 on Mothers Day is a bit of a clue. On the other hand I appreciate the concern expressed on here when I go missing for a while. It's a lot to be said for networking with friends, especially if family doesn't do it.

We have a friend whose husband has her logged on his computer via her GPS so he can see where she is when travelling home down a mountainous route alone. Maybe this is something that could be linked to our GPS when we are away so our family can keep track of us. Or would we rather not let them know and just contact occasionally?

Sounds like a good idea, but i recon our kids would just go into over drive some times at some of the things we get up to.See they think we are tooooo old to do a lot of things we do,and would be a pain inthe neck trying to talk us out of it. ( but for some people it would work ) I just think it is a selfish thing to do not letting family/ friends at least know your still on the face of the earth at least once per week at least. These poor family members sound like they were really worried ,and at the end of the day ,just one phn /text could have eleveated all the stress.

I am glad the people have been found, but perhaps they wanted some time on their own without the family looking over their shoulders. I understand that some post their where abouts but I prefer to travel incognito. My Kids would not normally even know what state I am in. Several want me to go into a home somewhere and just fade away and stop spending the money that they should get when I drop off the perch. They had problems when I gave up work as I was on a good salary and also sold my home in Brisbane that was increasing in value every day and then spent money on two buses and now wasting money travelling around working for free and staying with so called unknown people when I could be doing work around their homes. Regards Brian
