Yes .. its not for everyone, I suppose .. I find that I can afford the $14.00 per day .. it gives me clean toilets and hot showers .. but later the numbers do build when its rodeo time and thats when it can be a little rowdy at night ..
Still a good place to camp if staying up that way for awhile ,as it is a lot cheaper than a lot of other places. When the Rodeo is on ,it was still a nice place to camp.

Solid rain all day here in Biggy, 16 degrees. Seems to be covering a large area. You are lucky Jon to have fine weather there. Hope to make it up to Mareeba some time after July for a month or so.

I'm a Kiwi too buffy. I can tell you exactly where they are. Both inn Qld.
Biggy is Biggenden, inland from Childers, Maryborough or Bundaberg.
Mareeba is somewhere up around Cairns, not exactly sure which is the biggest town near there.

The Pollo club is only open to visitors between April and November,When we stayed there a few years ago you got charged per person not per site, but might have changed over the last few years.

I like Mareeba. Used to live there in the late 60s & early 70s. The caretakers at the rodeo grounds (not the chap that organises the camping) but the ones who live in the house down the back used to be my neighbours.

I've been told by several people that the Rocky Creek War Memorial Park is a good spot Sheba. CAW 6 #221. On the Kennedy Hwy, 12 kms N of Atherton, or 23kms S of Mareeba. Donation box in the toilets. Doesn't look like there's any showers though.
