When your Propane gas cylinder is getting near empty , you will notice that it will smell like rotton eggs.
I'm not sure whether to thank you for that info or not herbie Glad it only lasts a short time. I'm not keen on the smell.

Me neither ,but it is a sure way to let you know it is time to replace cartridge. (old army tip that one )
