If you're like me and you prefer to use the Quick Reply box, you will be annoyed whenever you need to include a URL in your post. That's because you need to use the Advanced Editor to "linkify" the URL.
If you would like to avoid the annoying clickfest, then you can manually input the appropriate BBS codes. Remove the spaces in the square brackets to see what I mean.
BBS codes and HTML tags are hidden control codes that tell the forum software how to display your text. When you select the Advanced Editor, these codes are inserted for you. For example, when you select Bold or Italic, the editor adds "b" and "i" codes enclosed in square brackets.
To illustrate, cut and paste the following two lines into your reply box, and remove the spaces from within the square brackets on the second line only.
[ i ]italic[ /i ] plain [ b ][ i ]bold italic[ /b ][ /i ] plain [ b ]bold[ /b ] [ i ]italic[ /i ] plain [ b ][ i ]bold italic[ /b ][ /i ] plain [ b ]bold[ /b ]
Then select Preview.

And the difficulty in opening the advanced editor is WHAT!!!!. I personally find the lack of options coming up in the first instance when using the quick reply mode a pain at times especially if I have pics or drawings to attach but I just chill and get on with it. Treat posting as type of therapeutic outlet and release not a vocation

I don't use the quick reply, because my replies aren't usually quick!
If I want to add an address, I just bring it up in another window, highlight the address and copy and paste.
Too easy!

I could be wrong Beth, but that address method still does not "linkify"...at least not when I tried it.

Even when you cut and paste a link you still need to 'activate' it by hight lighting and clicking on the 'chain' link as in my previous post. Seems much quicker than deleting brackets etc - one click does the job.

You don't need to delete brackets.

It looks like automatic "linkification" is now available. I assume there must have been a forum software update.

Just testing (without BBS codes) ...
