A further investigation into alternate ways to cook a roast - has anyone used their motor while traveling to reheat or cook food - I've heated chicken in foil in this way, it would only suit solid food if using foil or baking bags - might see if I can successfully cook a meal while in transit, a variation of meals on wheels!

Mythbusters had this on their show last week. We watched them cook a complete Thanksgiving Dinner on, and under their motor as they drove around. They cooked turkey, corn on the cobs, pumpkin, gravy, other veggies, even had a dessert. Everything was cooked to perfection for the three people, both Mythbusters guys and a tech head who was monitoring the engines temperature through out the drive.
Is amazing, I wouldn't have thought it was possible...but they proved you could.

I remember years ago a hero of mine, Jack Absolum talked about this sort of thing on one of his TV travel hints shows, very interesting too.

I have no idea where it is now but in the very early days of inland motoring Kidmam had a device mounted of the manifold of his vehicle that did the job of cooking the meal between stop overs. A few years back I also recall an overseas family touring the world in an old rag top vehicle that had another contraption fitted to the manifold that did the same. Go to a 4X4 shop or show they have many cooking devices that could suit your needs

Met Jack in his Broken Hill gallery many years ago Love his art & have a pile of his DVDs & a collection of his prints.
Unfortunately SWMBO got into a very animated discussion with him about his 'love' of Joe Bejelke Petersen, so we left on less than friendly terms. He struck me as a pretty opinionated guy .. unlike like me of course.

With the motor underneath the passenger seat, I don't think I'll be trying it.
