HI Mike and Marg.
The 4.6KW heater is rather large in output but that depends on how big an area you want to heat.
These are available from China. http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Air-parking-heaters-2kw-12V-Diesel-for-battery-car/816190_693181745.html
They also sell the kit which contains the output connections and ducting grill. http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Ducting-Grill-Inlet-and-outlet-set-for-2KW-parking-heater/816190_880514170.ht
I am not sure if they sell a fuel tank but they are available on eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121114002910?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Planar heaters I think come from Russia but you can buy them online from Turkey.
I hope that this helps.
Regards Chris

Hi all, looking for a cheaper diesel heater, and saw this model on ebay. It has 1 outlet and the tank can be positioned as required to fit into under truck. The asking price is $600.00 with free postage.
I know there are other models out there, such as Webasto, Erbascher etc etc but they are 1400 - $1800, a bit much for us.
Also thought about lpg powered heaters, but they are all about $1450, could not find any cheaper units?????
Any suggestions, tips etc. We are run ning a diesel powered motorhome, so supply is not a prob.

Hi Chris,
many thanks for that info, has led to other links, eg catalytic propane heaters, as well as other marine heaters, so have a lot of research to do,
Cheers,
Mike

Sorry to be a bit pessimistic here, but who will fix and/or service the unit. We have an Erberbascher, the unit is now 27 months old, so out of warranty (24 months through Dometic). We wanted to get it serviced, and found a dometic agent 2 hours from where we are currently located. We freighted the unit to them on Wednesday 29th May, and had a call this morning to say it is ready to be returned to us. Will you get that sort of service if you buy something from Russia or Turkey? Something you need to bear in mind when buying - not just the initial price.

That is a very good question Dunmovin, but does not only apply to a deisel heater, but generators and a list of goodies that we can buy off the net made overseas. I am also looking at buying a cheaper deisel heater, but would like to find a good service technician before I go to all the trouble and expense of fitting one. Cheers george
