I have just read an article on the front page of an SEQ Community newspaper.
It seems that a local has just claimed the world record for a Solo assisted "Round Australia' ride by pushbike.
Reid Anderton of Thornlands (Brissy) has recently completed the journey in 37 days, 1 hour and 18 minutes. He reportedly raised $104,000 for his charity in the process.
It may be yet another journalist error but the article said that the journey was 14,000km. Around 10,000 short I think.

Makes you wonder what the actual distance is to be recognized as the distance to be covered to qualify? Saying that it's a bloody good go, and raising that amount of money for charities tremendous.
I recall a certain young lady who professed to have solo sailing circumnavigated the globe but didn't actually meet the criteria to claim the record. Still lauded despite that.

If the object was to raise money for charity, then I don't suppose it matters much how far he says it was. He sure couldn't have been doing it to see the sights!

There is a trip round the block being undertaken at the moment with the latest commodore don't really understand what they are trying to prove as any car straight off the showroom floor should be capable of doing that trip.
