Maybe it is that yank thing they are big on over here now Xmas in July....I am still getting over last Xmas let alone thinking about the next one. But marketing ploy again at it's best.SPEND SPEND SPEND.

We are doing Xmas in July at Dungog [Carriageway Resort]. Your right herbie ,first time for us .The price is doubled..Have stayed there many times over the years and the prices are normally good .They call us USA number 2 don,t they?..Alan

Not for any other reason, but we just don't bother with it, Christmas that is!!
It all got too commercial and just another money spinner, and lost the true meaning MANY years ago, and I agree Herbie, what is it with all the bloody Yank things, we are Australian not bloody American................... We do enjoy a nice meal and a few glasses of something special on the day though, but we haven't bothered with presents or cards for a long time. I tell my wife that I love her every single day, morning and night, and in between sometimes, I don't need a card to do that.
Sorry....... Bah-humbug

PS - I guess it would probably be different if we had kid's or grand-kids but we don't.

Yes, it probably would be different if you had kids or grandkids. For us Christmas is as much about being together as a family as it is about the celebration. We enjoy both.
