Might depend how big the caravan is. And the weather conditions - could be snow in parts at this time of year.

Gday...
Excellent main highway all the way from Canberra through Cooma to Cann River. All sealed, beautiful country, hilly but not so it would affect your towing a van.
It becomes a beautiful, scenic, winding, road in the southern end nearer to Cann, but no problems for a van.
There is a chance of snow across the top after Cooma, but it has to be forecast down to fairly low levels before it will impact. Check Cooma police if you are concerned.
Cheers - John

Hi Beaver, I have towed many times Cann River/Canberra over the years; its a good section of road that like any other requires driving to the conditions. The speed limit is 100kph but wouldnt recommend it. Expect log trucks to be working Mon -Sat and between Bombala and Canberra the boys in blue are waiting for speeding motorists!
The section of road Cann to Bombala is heavily forested and so expect wildlife even during daylight hours.
Its a lovely drive and one I would recommend.
Safe travels.

Hi BEAVER and welcome from me, enjoy here and out in the playground.
I travelled the Monaro last September (not in a Monaro though) and even though there was snow in them there hills I never encountered any on or even near the road so all good then. Although I had been told the Monaro was a hilly and sometimes tricky road I had no problem at all and thought it a lovely drive. I have since been on much worse.
