If your travelling north towards Charters Towers and are in need of a overnight rest then consider staying at the Capella Caravan Park, half way between Emerald and Clermont. It is well back from the main road, thus, no noise from traffic.
The owners/operators David and Jodie are a young couple who make you welcome and will provide any assistance at anytime.
The amenities are spotless. They provide nibbles for Happy Hour each night. They use this as a means of getting fellow travellers together. On Friday nights they have a camp fire activity.
Capella has a couple of pubs, a well stocked hardware store, news agent, supermarket. and other shops. A dump point is at the showgrounds.
The current rate is $29 per night for a powered site. We found it very good value.
Happy Caravanning

We stayed there for a week in 2011 - when we got back home we voted this park the best one we stayed in during the 5 months we were away
