For those grey nomads already up here in sunny NQ, a must see is the recently opened Avenue of Honour at Tinaburra on the banks of Lake Tinaroo On the Atherton Tableland west of Cairns. A truely magnificent site to pause and reflect and not only on those who have given their lives in Afghanastan. It has been built with a lot of love and commitment from local support and driven by parents of a local soldier who gave his life.
There is a caravan park across for the Avenue.
