Was amazed to hear on the radio today that in central QLD there is 50 different road repairs going on at the same time.

Gday...
Yep ... and I reckon I have encountered about 49 of them
But it is great they are getting the roads back into a good condition ... and improving those that were not damaged by the floods but had simply degraded.

It felt the same last year, road works everywhere! So are these ones new? or is it because the roadworks from last year are still ongoing?

The report mentioned that some of the work that had been under taken had been not up to scratch pre last flood.I thought that was interesting, wonder if there will be some kind of inquiry into the standard of work and materials used. I know of one bridge out of Gladstone that was completed not six weeks before this last lot of floods hit and where this bridge is located did not get hit real hard, but it just gave way.At least the Gladstone council is investigating the quality of the work that was used by this company who built it.
