well all its sad to say but the weather won this round
we left in april to head to adelaide via the ocean run and it rained and was windy for weeks
w e could not put the awning out at any time so we had to stay in the van we saw sun very raely
we had to remove the table to give us more room in the van and then my huddy got the man flu And that was that for a week and a half
now dont get me wrong we battled the wind i mean gale winds and rain and still tryed to do things along the way and for the first few weeks it was quite fun and even the cold did not get to me even though i had to by new clothes ha ha but by the time we got to christies beach sa i am sad to say it stoped being fun and i was over it
i now have a better understanding of why you guys down south come north any way we left to come home and you guessed it by now still cold wet windy and minus cold mornings so after 10 weeks on the road i am over the van over the weather and over the rain and yes i have now had a dose of the woman flu that has laid me up for 5 days and yes we get home on thursday and it has not stoped raining so the only good point is that i am home oh there is now place like home and thd sad part is i dont want to get into the van for at least 6 months ha ha
we picked the wrong time to go away this time so margaret 0 weather 1 this time

Sorry to hear that you had such a bad time of it Margaret the weather here in S.A. has been really cold and yes we do usually go north this time of the year. I am sure once the weather picks up you will be away on your travels again and loving every minute of it. Take care Helena.

I know how you feel Margaret. After a "holiday" with the camper-trailer when it rained and was windy most of the time I was completely over it. It took a new caravan almost 12 months later, and some ill-health, before I was ready for another try. We still only go where we think the weather will be good.

That's no good at all Margaret, I hope you both recover from it all real soon.
Make it like riding a horse you fell off, just get back out there in a few months, not 6 and start off from where you left off.

This link might help, it was first posted by yeoeleven some time ago and he states he uses it to pre plan his trips, If its from John its got to good!
Take the time (minutes) to study the site and you will see its quite a valuable planning aid to almost guarantee a great trip.
I know how you feel, we normally over winter in the N West WA but are on our Eastern odyssey so are spending our first winter in the South for around 10 years!
Cannot believe how cold its been and wet, and for the first time ever we've suffered condensation ! know now why all the Mexicans leave Vic for the North.
And yes I know we should have been there too but decided to go later when they all head back home. But never again ! we will be up there early next year.

Thanks for posting that link, Grill. I've bookmarked it. And too bad about your wet and windy trip, Margaret. What a shame. I can understand why you're not too keen to go again for quite a while. Hopefully, you'll kick a goal weatherwise next time.
