Anyone able to suggest the best way to get to Maleny from Toowoomba.
I know you can turn north near Woodford, not sure how steep the road is. From memory, the road from Woodford is very steep, but have never towed anything into Maleny.
Hopefully someone will be able to let me know if the road is too steep for a largish van.

Retreat hi.
All the roads out of Toowoomba have a descend on them, TollBar to Brisbane.
From Hampton to Esk has a lot of short hills but it can be quite with out a lot of traffic.
From Esk turning left you can drive around via Somerset Dam offering you some great short stops.
Or you could go straight a head to you meet up with the D'Aguilar Highway then right to Kilcoy
Into Kilcoy. Turning right towards Woodford, not to far out of Woodford turn left towards Beerwah.
29ks along this road turn Left towards Maleny. Pleasant drive with short hills.
My second choice would be down to Yarraman along the New England Highway then turn right to
Kilcoy picking up the other directions from Kilcoy both pleasant enough, this one has the Blackbutt Range
to contend with all in all not to bad a days drive.
Hope this may help you making a day of your travels.

We went from Gympie to Ipswich via Maleny.
Heading downhill from Maleny it didn't seem too steep.
As said above, head east from Kilcoy ( get something from the bakery
near the right turn to go east. Pasties are great.)
Turn left to Beerwah ( nice overnight camp area on left ).
Maleny is up high so no matter what way you attack it,it will have steep bits.
