This should have gone in Health and Wellbeing imho. You seem to have a fixation with watching people anywhere anytime lol Just jesting. Its one of my favourite passtimes. A very interesting hobby.

I will start of by apologising if this is in the wrong section, but it is general in nature, and does not seem to fit in I Digress.
I suspect I am not alone in drawing pleasure from watching people, particularly in places like airports, and train stations. I look at people and wonder where they are going, where they are from, what they are doing, and look for clues to help me work it out.
I find it is a way of making those waits that you have no control over more fun.
Am I alone?

Yep we enjoy it too, esp in new areas where they are a bit, shall we say different. You can learn a lot about the area by watching the people.

Plenty of people here in Byron Bay, North Coast, NSW, to watch. Place is packed.

Have fun Doug, grab a coffee, and sit and enjoy.
I have a similar problem where I am, but I have learned to walk more slowely, and to enjoy sitting having a coffee or a meal.
Coffee is about the same price as in Aus, but food is dirt cheap, I average about $3 for a good meal, with a soft drink.
When I get back I will edit some driving videos and post short versions, then you can all see how much fun it is.

When we first went to Sydney from Brisbane as a young married couple in the early '60's, my first husband and I used to go every Saturday night, to the corner at King's Cross, to do just that. It was great free entertainment. We did that for months.
Cheers,
Sheba.

Hey Plendo, You are not alone, I think most people enjoy the pastime of watching other people, !! and when you are overseas like you are at the moment, it is even more interesting because of cultures and another way of life . And yeah, when you get back some edited video's would be great,
PS I know Dougwe likes to watch people ?? But in Byron Bay he likes to go down to the Nude beach ?? and watch there ???/
Also do not worry to much about where you posted this, Imho this is a General comment, and also imho, as long as it is of interest 98% of forumites don't care

I don't do it often, but sometimes I wonder when I see people, driving in their car, pulling up in front of a huge house, driving their caravan and expensive tug, etc etc. I wonder if they are working to pay off these debts, whether they have paid it all off, what their lives are like...
I guess we all have a certain curiosity about how the other half live. It's nice to make up scenarios about what, when, how :)

Ladies it is so true, we al have that curiosity about other peoples lives (how did they afford that?), and yes it is great entertainment watching people being less tha sensible, I also used to enjoy watching people do silly things, my dear wife used to be a singer, and I used to be a sort of band support person, means I was trapped in entertainment venues, people make great entertainment.
Now Doug as Dazren says he lets his legs do all the work walking down to the beach. In my environment I have to jut imagine. I wonder if Doug will get caught AGAIN?

Sure was a lot of people and people watching on the beaches I have been visiting today and heaps of that nice warm sun to keep the body happy too. No problem of getting caught here. Not much attire being worn anyway, even down the main street.
You are only jealous Dazren because you can't be here. I will lap it all up and enjoy it all for you. I only do that for mates.

I watch the oldies at shopping centers the females dive off in every direction do their thing the males tag along behind and look lost . Many of the blokes I've started up a conversation with all say they have only just retired and are lost with so much time on their hands , most only have one car so driving Miss Daisy becomes their destiny and most have not planned the big R day well at well, with no hobbies and only one vehicle so they become joined at the hip and look like crap after a month or two.
Anyone planning to retire make sure you plan to fill your days with things you want to do that way you will remain happily married and not become homicidal by mid week. live your day like it's your last and bugger the expense life is not a rehearsal

While waiting for many hours at the Melbourne airport recently, out of sheer boredom, I invented a new game called "spot the tat." It passed the time and it seems that every other person between the ages of 16 and 40 have just GOT to have at least one visible tattoo. I wondered whether those cute little chics realise that the sweet little rose bud on their bosom, will gradually turn to a long stemmed rosé and that sweet little Cupid with the bow and arrow, will in some 50 years resemble a gargoyle. Oh well, like I said it did help to pass the time. You should try it. By the way, I have nothing against tattoos, my 4 adult children all have been decorated.
