There's a couple of nice Van Parks in Yarram. It's a great central base to explore around either the mountains or the coast - both only 20 mins.
From there you can move east to Seaspray and explore along the 90 mile beach.
From there you could move on to Lakes Entrance, then to Marlo - (seriously Cape Conran is a must) then to Buchan then on to Mallacoota.
Cheers

Try Powlett River van park just west of Wonthaggi. Nice park, clean but about 20ks from Wonthaggi. Have to agree about Buchan though, real nice but also recommend Bruthen just a tad north of Brainsdale. Pub serves great meals. If you have a 4x4 as the tug, a quick run and drive through the enchanted forest is a must.

Of the places mentioned Cowboy and as a local can I recommend Korumburra. Lovely little park but will be cold this time of the year but so is most of Vic. If you stay there make sure you check out the rotunda, not telling why though.
Warragul is a very busy place and can be a little on the rough side.
Leongatha is not bad, bigger town than Korumburra, not by much though.
If you want somewhere a bit closer to Phillip Island maybe and only 30 mins west of Korumburra, check out Coalfields CV Park in Wonthaggi. NOT MINERS REST, never, no way.

Cowboy, definitely korumburra, it is a great little park, very clean and friendly. Quiet also, and offer a fun happy hour at weekends.

Isn't Coal Creek in Korumburra? I always wanted to go there given it's only a short distance from home in Warneet.
BTW you can stay overnight in Warneet and Blind Bight. Blind Bight has a very secret camp / picnic ground with dunnys and Warneet
has the famous Yacht club where you can get a shower etc for a donation. Both places have electric BBQ's and good fishing.
Byo Aeroguard tropical for the midges.
Cheers

There is also a very nice park on the Gippsland Highway at Toora (they have won a lot of awards I believe), and if you are looking for a bit of fishing maybe Seabank CP which is a couple of k's from Port Albert. Keith
