Thanks for the welcome A and A. I have actually been a keen viewer for a while and have learnt lots from this forum but only posted once before a long time ago. Been on the road now for nearly 4 months so glad to share some of my experience now!

Hi Werkin,
Just a thought, The Theresa Creek Dam is worth a visit and would be good at that time for a week or so.
You can go up through Emerald and then Anakie, Sapphire and so on to the dam.
Fuel and tucker up in Emerald and you are set.
Clermont is just 20 minutes further north from the Dam for any other supplies you may need.
Facilities include Hot Showers, Toilets, Swimming Beach and RedClaw Crayfish if you have the pots.
Last year it was $10.00 per van site per day. Been going there for many years but didn't get there this year.
I haven't been along the new road from Sapphire up to the dam but I am informed it is tar all the way. (Can't spell bitumen.)
Probably better than the old highway direct to Clermont.
Someone else may have more upto date info.
Dam kiosk phone number is 07 49832327
Any more info I will let you know.
Have fun Haji-Baba

Werkin,
Better check up on the new????????????? road from Rubyvale to Copperfield turnoff to The Teresa Creek Dam.
It may not be bitumen all the way. A call to the caretakers at the dam will verify.
