Does anyone else have problems with insects bypassing screens in new windows and roof top hatches? They don't keep the bugs out.

I reckon the little bu**ers sneak in via the fridge vent.

We can see them coming from where the window plastic trim meets the wall and the edges of the concertina screens in the roof hatches. Thanks Rick

Gday Rick you don't say how old your van is but I suspect the screens may not have been fitted properly and the dealer will either fix them or possibly advise you of a fix and if none of that works try some surface spray that will kill the bugs.

Or the vent behind the microwave
Or the ven behind the exhaust fan/light above the stove
Or the head height vent on the side of the van, that I understand is required for ventilation

I removed the wall vent and glued a piece of flywire onto the back before clipping it back in - has made a difference

We have a auto dispensing insect spray in the van. We had a problem with sinapore ants. Had the pest control guy do the site and van but they soon returned. These little buggers like to eat plastic along with wire insulation etc. After fitting the despencer we have had no problems with any insects. The wife is sensitive to the ordours of most sprays but these units only meter out a small amount. Needs a refill about every month.
cheers

also some soft foam strip between the wire mash and the caravan
Very easy to do your self

We use one too, very good at their job and as you say, very little odour.

Hi, the van is just over a month old, the insect screens and block-out screens are a roll up type concealed in the window frames.
Cheers, Rick

Rickp , it sounds like you really have to take the van back to the dealers. Surely this would be covered under warranty, the insect screens are not supposed to let insects in around the sides!
What make of caravan is it?

Hi,
At this stage I don't want to say the brand of the van as I want to give them a chance to fix it and I don't want to jeopardize any dealings with them.
I know they have removed a negative comment from their facebook page so I will wait and see what their response is.
