Was told to camp at the showground, but they are now closed to caravans due to pressure.
I was directed to St Pats race course and can stay here for $25 per night powered, the facilities are fairly basic, but toilets and showers in the jockey room, water is available ,but you have to find the taps, dump point
caretakers are travellers who will be moving on soon

Thanks for that one Ken - might get that way ourselves yet. We are in the Burra showgrounds at $15 night - powered or unpowered - toilets are open, and you get a code for the shower when you pay. Dump Point and taps on site. Good for big rigs.

Gday...
When I stayed at the Burra Showgrounds last year, I could not find a flat spot - it was the most undulating showgrounds I have found.
There were no codes for the showers when I was there either ... and when we arrived there was no gas ... they had to chase up a replacement bottle and get it all going.
They were great how they chased and worked for we campers - although it was 10pm before we got a shower.
cheers - John

I think it is a good idea for the showers to have a code - there is no caretaker on site, and she came in late yesterday afternoon, which I suppose she will do again today. Very friendly people, and a good little town, with a really nice bakery - lovely coffee and Cornish pastie!! Sitting here, waiting out the wind!!
