Has anyone stayed at Barney's Beach, Thallon, Qld?
Is there water in the river and is it suitable for fishing and kayaking?
Cheers

Not yet, but have it mind for future trips, as we drove past there in Jan 2012 and decided that we would stay on a future trip. That alone makes it a potentially good site from our point of view.

We didn't stay at Barney's Beach as it had no facilities \, we stayed at the camp located on Carnervan H/Way northern entrance of village. We booked and picked up key from post office (open during business hrs )
showers/toilets/water.
Predominate bird watching ar'swa and fishing from the Moonie river.
we went there to have a look see around Bullamon home stead built in 1860's still has original shingle roof ,slab log walls and remains of what was once a spectacular chinese garden.
Cannot help regarding Barney's Beach only this area.

Hi All,
we ended up staying at Barney's Beach for a couple of nights last week.
it's not a bad spot, very basic bush camping with no facilites
there are a number of spots along the Moonie River but there is no grass and it could be a problem if there is rain - very sticky!
we had a nice time but I think it could get very crowded on the weekend!
