Just a hint if anyone is interested, just near where I live at Benarkin in the South Burnett (SEQld) there is a little free overnight park there that seems to be used quite frequently.
Has nice (relatively new) showers and toilets.
And what a lot of people don't seem to realise is that there is free power for about 4 vans.
It is just that I had some friends that had pulled in there and didn't realise they could have power so I just thought I'd put it on here to let people know.
In addition to that, anyone heading out this way will really be pleased with the new road up the Blackbutt Range now that it is finished.

This place sounds wonderful, not sure exactly where it is. I'm on the southern end of North
Burnett.
Would be a great idea to add this to the Free Budget Camps section. That's where we look while on the road for a suitable place to camp.

Another good spot is at Linville. If you know how, there is free power there as well. Toilets, water, but no showers. Pub across the road.

Hi Brikkies,
easy to find the camp at Benarkin.
When you come up the Blackbutt Range from Moore you get up to the top of the Range and come across a slow vehicle lane, where the slow vehicle lane ends, you will find a little turnoff to the right going to Taromeo (and Taromeo Sawmill) IGNORE that turnoff and about 2 klm's further along the highway towards Blackbutt you will see a Turnoff to Benarkin, take that turnoff and it is a bit like a Service Road and runs parallel with the highway. You will see a small school on your left, (slow down, we like our kids in an upright position as much as possible) and you will come upon the Benarkin Shopping Centre (it's like, the Post Office / Service Station / Take Away / General Store all tucked into one little ol' shop known as the Benarkin General Store (They even have it listed under shops on my TomTom GPS POI lol)
Anyway, the park is just there opposite the little shop, you can't miss it. Has a few power points, swings in the park even for the kids. Toilets and Showers that were even refurbished not all that long ago.
PS if you are heading from Brisbane way and all of a sudden you see you have gone past the Benarkin Turnoff, don't try and stop and turn around, just keep going, because about 2klms further along you will come across another turnoff for Benarkin so just turn right there and follow it around until you come to the shop. You might have to get in early to get a power point, I think there are four of them.
But I'm sure like all good travelers, you probably keep a spare double adaptor of some description to utilise.
Hope that has been of some help.

Oh and by the way, I have never seen that little park so packed that another van or two couldn't get in either.
