I have just realised that this is the best part of my day (well second best after greeting the Snowman when i get home from work). Here i am sitting up in bed, cuppa at the bedside and thoroughly engrossed in this forum. Some would say "get a life" but this is now part of my new life to be and I love it, especially all the great folk out there who I am yet to meet and looking forward to doing so. Sometimes I forget what time it is until Snowman reminds me that I have to get up for work the next day. But not for much longer .... 88 days to retirement!!!

in 88 days you will start to really enjoy life but don't count on having more time to spend on the forum as life can be really busy once retired, my mates who retired before me used to say they didn't know how they found time to go to work and I used to laugh at them but I now understand.
Hope the 88 days are also fun for you

Deconuts, you are 100% correct in your comment. This forum has been a saviour for me and I should imagine many others as well. I reckon this is part of the playground anyway, great and very knowledgable people with a bit of fun along the way. When you do meet people from here it is like meeting up with life long friends.
Keep enjoying but make sure you,

You're spot on there Doug, that time we met you at the Willows in Townsville I spotted you from about 50 metres and said to Joy I bet that's Doug, and sure enough it was. And when we started talking it was sharing commonalities (is that a new word?) with the result that we'd count Doug as a good friend. Not just about caravanning but life in general.
Regards
Denis

Gee, thanks Denis, I'm all embarrassed now. The feeling is very mutual Denis and Joy and that actually goes for everyone I have met from this great forum.
Edit........iPads are great until they do their own thing.

I have to agree, I also love reading the GN forum. It's the friendliest one. I have tried a couple of others but once the nasty comments start I quit. This one is the best and most active.
My man doesn't comment but reads it eagerly ,I do all the talking ha ha
When we started travelling 5 yrs ago we didn't have a clue , the forums were a huge source of info and we took a lot on board. After a few trips we had ourselves organised and now we travel very confidently . Still making mistakes and learning though. Now we look up the forum each trip especially the freedom camps recommendations and parks. We eagerly read hints and tips.someone always gives us good ideas.
This year we made one trip and that was for 8 weeks to WA. Have a lot on this year ending the year with a cruise but next year we are planning several trips. It's a wonderful lifestyle and I hope we will do it for many years to come.
We are looking forward to meeting some of these lovely people on our next trips.
