I have been asked why I haven't done one of my updates yet, well I wasn't going too but here is the update you do when not doing an update, sort of like a Clayton's update I spose. Bugga he's back I hear someone say.
I have now been here house sitting in Batemans Bay, NSW south coast for 2 weeks but just to go back a bit.
I was going to spend a few days getting here from my home land in south west Gippsland, Victoria and do a bit of sightseeing but got a phone call saying get here quick smart, well sort of like that anyway. I asked Navlady to take me to here leader in BB but I got as far as Eden, NSW, just over the Vic boarder and decided to prop the night.
I left early the next morning and checked out the marina and dock area at Eden and there was 2 Tall Ships staying over night, they were on there way to Sydney for the Sydney Fleet Review Spectacular. I got talking to a young bloke who is travelling on board one of them and he had come across from Hobart the night before and they had a rough crossing so was a bit unwell, 12 foot waves attacking them, now I wouldn't like to be the one doing the measuring that's for sure.
I arrived in the Bay and settled in then chatted and got the run down on things around the house. The owners left the following morning so here I am on my pat malone in Batemans Bay but enjoying it.
On the way through from Eden I called in and visited Neil n Ruth and had lunch with them so spent an hour or so there chatting then on my way again, It has been 12 months since I saw them so was good to catch up again, I will go visit them again before I leave.
Unfortunately due to a very bad truck accident near Sydney involving a Coots fuel tanker and them now having a large amount of their fleet off the road and not delivering fuel there is a fuel shortage here in Batemans Bay. With this and my back giving me a problem I haven't been able to a lot.
Fortunately I have managed to drive around the area a little so have checked out a few places I didn't fit in last year, good too. I managed to get a few pics but my mind must have got lost somewhere along the journey as I thought the batteries in my camera were fully charged but bugga, not to be, so went flat as a tac sooner than soon, never mind, no big deal. I had the iPhone camera for any kodak moments.
I have been seeing the Clyde River Oysters around everywhere I go and have resisted them until last Friday night when I just couldn't help myself, yum. I will more than likely give in again before I leave here and I tell you that for free.
Last Friday I had the great pleasure of meeting and having lunch with "Copper1", Garry and his lovely wife Roxanne, discussed elsewhere on this forum. Great to meet up with new GN's and I will catch up with them again also before I leave.
Well, not much else to report at this stage but have included a few pics for those that may not have been over this way yet so until next time (maybe)
Enjoy the playground.

The thought of house minding kinda appealed to me until I read a comment about lawn mowing being part of the job hehe. Great pics, Doug. Been a long time since I visited the south coast of NSW but I do remember how beautiful it was/is.

Good report Doug, I understand how you feel when I camp in one spot for over a week it gets difficult to keep on reporting.
Having said that you have "done very well" as the Old Mr Grace would have said, for those who watched Are you Being Served for those who didn't you missed a fine English comedy. I remember "elle-on-wheels" avator of Mrs Slocum with fond regret.
Without connecting it to the title I have just added a Claytons paragraph.

Doug iIf they did not give specific instruction on the starting and use of said infernal device call "Lawn mower" you could state safety concerns and therefore to negate the possibilities of further claims of compensation for distress and future trauma you refrained from said activity for their benefit.
Beside did not the neighbor complain when you started it at 4:30 on the first Sunday morning you were there LOL
Take care mate and sit back and enjoy the scenery and leave those girls alone in the supermarket you old smoothy, as they are for me and John (he gets what I cant handle).
Regards
Brian
