we are in the early stages of planning the big trip, but wondering what people do about house insurance as ours says we can't leave the house empty after 60 days, also do you store your furniture or rent it out as furnished.
I expect there will be more questions as we get further towards the big one.

May depend on who you are with , we can notifiy the insurance co. of the house being unoccupied & pay an additional fee to have it fully covered + contents in this state as peace of mind. Advise them on your return & policy returns to normal.

We are with SGIC and as long as lawns are cut, mail collected and the place looks lived in there is no change. It might help if you check out different companies, we dont travel full time only for the winter months, so our conditions are different to yours but it still wouldnt hurt to check out other companies as they are all different
