Hi there, being a new member to this forum, I wish to introduce myself and offer a short resume. My name is Brian, hence the username, great imagination eh. I am a retired Electrical Engineer with many years spent in the design and construction of extra low voltage (ELV) and low voltage (LV) transmission and operating systems. For the uninitiated - ELV is AC up to 50v or DC up to 120v, LV is AC from 50v up to 1000v or DC from 120v up to 1500v. Anything higher than that, I leave to someone else. Much of my time was devoted to regional pipeline corrosion mitigation involving remote cathodic protection systems with both small and large battery and solar installations plus the implementation of electrical distribution for regional housing. Being involved in distant work necessitated the learning of many skills and acquiring of numerous licences in order to legally manage and carry out the required tasks. Thus I also hold a current Electrical contractor's licence plus restricted Builder's and Plumber's licences, but no, I don't want any jobs on the side.. I have spent many decades both four wheel driving and caravanning over much of this marvellous country. Until recently, being trepidated by retirement, I filled in some of my spare time installing solar on RVs for a local sales outlet or assisting an auto electrician friend when required, so have a reasonable working knowledge of the requirements of RV electrical systems. Then I learned to relax.... Well maybe not completely, so, apart from repairing a few CPAP machines for a local supplier, I'm now officially unemployed and retired I trust that I will be able to contribute positively to the forum, and hopefully the old dog is not past learning a few new tricks as well.

We'll I have never met a bad Brian yet, welcome to the site. You will be encouraged to be yourself no matter what your back ground. This site is a wonderful one that helps all and asks for nothing in return. By former life is also that of an electrician firstly with Otis Elevator Co for who I did an app with and then worked for DCA for 27 years in a variety of areas and developed skill bases finally moving on after in charge of the electrical section in Tassie. After that moved to a radio station in Launceston were I was an announcer in breakfast Along with being the stations program and technical manager. finally got sick and tired of having my life driven by time so after 21 years of radio I retired and have been on the road full time now for three years and loving every second of it.
So there you go we have some things in common. Enjoy your travels and you have joined a great group of people.
take care
Brian.

Thank you all for the welcome and kind words.
My wife and I have had numerous caravans over a few decades now, and at present have a newish one at just 2 years old, but which has already travelled extensively and is fairly much modified from original.
We tow it with a 2002 model 100 series LC which we have had since new and can't bring myself to part with, we carry a rooftop tinnie when required, which seems to be most of the time as we both enjoy boating and fishing.
I don't carry a portable trailer due to weight concerns, so instead, modified the boat to accept a specially made set of trailer wheels and draw bar and got the whole boat legally registered as a trailer, all up weight for the trailer bit is just 21kg.
With the weight saving I can now carry more fishing gear and refreshments.

As the saying goes Jules, two heads are better than one, I reckon they would be both bright sparks but in the most nicest way.
They have both probably heard that a million and one times so sorry guys.

Well that's not quite right ! there are actually THREE "Sparky Brians"
I'm an ex-electrical contractor and ex-electrical consulting engineer with around 35 years experience in the industry. I'm retired now, but the last 15 years of my career was as a computer consultant and trainer (after 35 years in the electrical industry I'd had enough !) and moved into the computing world.
G'day brian and briche:
What is it with blokes named Brian and electrical careers ??? Maybe we should (collectively) be referred to as "The Three Amigos"
Regards, Brian
