Any Forum Member in the Lithgow or upper Blue Mountains areas there is currently an out of control Bushfire impacting on this area with prevailing winds it has now crossed the Bells Line Road and is into the Gross Valley and travelling east, it is also impacting on the residential area of Lithgow the following roads are closed,
Bells Line Road Darling Causeway and State Gully Road.
Emergency evacuation locations are being established at Mt Tomah Botanical Gardens and Lithgow Workers Club 3 tank St Lithgow.
Now that the Fire has entered the Gross Valley suburbs in the upper mountains could be impacted in the next few hours and this fire has the potential to travel all the way down the mountains over the next week or two impacting on a significant number of homes and commercial properties.
The Great Western Highway is currently open between Lithgow and Penrith.
keep a check on NSW RFS website and on the ABC radio (702) for emergency warnings and updates there is also a mobile phone app fires near me

It's been a horrendous day with fires quite apart from the major ones mentioned. Very scary, do take care.

More horrible fires at Muswellbrook/Denman area and our daughter only just got out of RAAF base north of Newcastle in time before it was cut off.
