Hoping to head off for a 'test run' in our new little 'toy' in the next week or so for a couple of days.
As the van is only 13' it should be an interesting experience.
Trying to find space to put stuff is a challenge.
Making the bed is really testing!
Just going to Walga, about 2 hours away from home, for starters.
Should be fun (I hope lol)
Cheers

Thanks all
TAJ thought about Tumut caravan park. Have stayed in the cabins there before. But as we now live in Tumut (3 months) we thought we'd go just a little further afield
And Radar, I can sniff out an Op Shop from miles away. Oh and garage sales too lol
About 12 years ago we had a Jayco campervan that we popped around in, mostly Barrington Tops, Patonga, Dharug etc, as we lived on the Central Coast then and had two younger children.
Swapped the campervan for a horse float when the daughter started eventing. Put an annex on the side and she and me did lots of 'horsey' camping.
Now it's just me and the Grey One in what I have named 'Pokey' (I do love Gumby and the caravan is small!)
I must admit making a bed in a horse float was much easier than in Pokey! Heaps more space!!!
Cheers

Hope you enjoy your first trip in your new toy. I remember our first trip away. You will learn so much and come home a lot better than when you went away. Just relax and enjoy yourself

Hi Wandererone, you are doing it exactly as it should be done, by doing a short shake down trip at first, to see how everything plans out, best of luck.

Enjoy your shakedown - don't stress about the things you don't have with you - put it all down to experience - next time you will not forget - matches, can opener, kettle etc, etc.. We even forgot towels once!!!!
