Would like to know if I could use silicone cookware in it?
Would place on a trivet and use foil underneath.
Just thought that it would lighten the load.
Any and all advice gratefully received
G'day Kaid, I don't know about the babyq, but I tried silicone cookware on my hooded gas BBQ and some of the pieces didn't survive. I then read the instructions (DERR) on the BBQ which said that certain silicone and other ware was not suitable on my particular BBQ. This may/may not apply to your babyq. Had to clean it up quick so that S.W.M.B.O. didn't flay my skin off with that sharp tongue. She's got so much Tupperware silicone ware (so I should really BEWARE). I'm just not saying anything about the lesser amount of her cookware and will deny all knowledge if asked.
For what it's worth.

Having had a Webber 2, no, I wouldn't dare put silicone cookware in there! You can use foil for a lot of things though
Another question on the webber, has anyone an easy method of cleaning it?

I use a spray on BBQ cleaner that foams when you apply it. I think I got it from Bummings.
first time I spray it on give the area a scrub with a dish type brush and hose it off then apply again and leave it for 10-15 minutes then hose it off again.
cleans the inside of the lid ok for me as well as the area under the grill.
I don't like to take all the stuff off as it holds the "flavour" of a BBQ.
I reckon anyway.
you could try a water blaster!!(let me know how that goes please)

Hi Gerty, we have tried two products. The first was 'SILLYS" we ended taking it back for a refund. The second, and what we have used ever since is the Weber brand spray cleaner. This is now all we use. Mr D just about dismantles the whole unit to get into every nook and cranny. We now line the base of the weber with foil, which helps keep the bowl clean, and we use BBQ wipes (yes, the SILLY brand) to clean both the grill and plate each use. Our baby Q is now almost three years old, and still going strong.
PS: do we all know that there is a 5 year unconditional guarantee on Weber products? We got a new gas jet ring from them when it was just over two years old, but you need your serial number. Have to go via weber direct, cannot do it through the bqq stores.

I also line the base under the burner tubes with foil. Makes a big difference in helping keeping the bowl clean.
