Been keeping an eye out for a new van, - bigger fridge, more storage, full solar set up, maybe a full van this time.
Found one with all of the above, plus full ensuite, air con etc. Beautiful van .... but..... the beds are in the front, and the door is right at the end of the bed.
I'm sure it would annoy me to have the beds in full view of the open door, but... it is a beautiful van, and everything else is exactly what we want and more.
Anyone got experience with such a layout?

If everything else is perfect Rosie maybe you can find something to disguise the beds when the door is open.

have seen this design and don't like the idea of the bed being so exposed from the door and that to access the ensuite you have to pass the door. we have had a door rear and a front door and found that with the awning end in at the door end you have much more privacy - which is not available with the door further down the van.

No, if you had a bad cold and wanted to have a day in bed....how would that be. That's what would be in my mind.
Of course fitting the bed further to the back will totally change the arrangement.
back to the drawing board.

You would have a lot more room to move around the end of the bed though.
The centre door is also more sheltered under the awning if it is raining.
We have a front bed with a rear door by the way.

We have a front east/west bed layout with the door near the rear. We have no window in the front to leak and the front wall inside is wardrobe and cupboards.
We did not want the door at the end of the bed either. The other layout that was considered was front club lounge with a east/west bed at the rear. This layout had the door was toward the front but the club lounge is there.
