For those who are not registered or are registered I would like to point out some items you may not be aware of, particularly in regards to threads and posts.
By registering, you are able to bring the latest posts to the fore instead of being buried where you can't see them. For newbies who are registered but may not be aware of this also, after registering/logging on click on "User Details" shown on the dark blue line at the top here, then click on "Settings" under Profile which then gives you the option of setting posts so you can see the latest without having to scroll down to any that have been buried out of sight. You can also update your profile as well.
A registered users can also send pm's (private messages) to other users by clicking on their username. You can also view the profile of others if you wish to know more about them as they can view yours too. I would advise only to use your first name on a profile and a general description of where you live, eg; North Queensland etc, etc, also maybe a year instead of full birth date for security and identity fraud reasons and to safeguard your home if you have made a public post saying you are going to be away etc. Remember anyone can register here and some who do never post so we don't know who they are, but they can access your profile.
If you get to know a member and wish to exchange email addy's or phone numbers you can do this by pm if you are happy with their bona fides. If anyone else would like to add to the advantages please do.
I was posting for awhile when I joined before I found out I could adjust my Settings to bring up the new posts (Duh) so hopefully this may help some others who may not be aware of this option.
Good luck and welcome to all new members.

I found this out a while after I registered. It should probably be pinned at the beginning of each topic.

Thanks for pointing it out Vic. I would never have found the way to do it otherwise. All set up nicely now.

I actually put correct Day & month with a fake year. The idea being I protect my security but still get a birthday wish.
Didn't work though...ha ha
