Buy a copy of Camps Australia Wide... version 7 will be out early next year. This book is usually known as Camps 6 or 7 (or whatever edition)., available from camping stores, bookshops, NRMA etc. You can also download to your gps.

Hi Juergen, have you tried (WikiCamps) it's an app for an Ipad, Iphone or Android tablet. Google WikiCamps for the download, costs $2.99. We use it all the time now, has so much info. Best $2.99 you will ever spend!!

And if you like looking at maps - try Camps Australia Wide #7 - aka "the travellers bible"!

The Camps Aus Wide No 7 is the bible as others have said. That's all I use with a little bit of back up from the site on here mentioned by Sheba.
Those two will get you around the country safely and cheaply.
Wikicamps is used by a lot of travellers, I haven't used it myself.

Also as with all the above advice don't be too rigid when planning your trip as we have found out especially in queensland some free campsites are full when you get there also as you are travelling other campers will tell you of places to visit word of mouth is usually a good recommendation as they have already been there, Happy camping

Sadly, yes Gerty!!!! Solo Steve counts every day as a Sunday - Sunday 1, Sunday 2, Sunday 3 etc... till he gets back to 7 - then starts again!!!

If there is and I'm missing it, please point me in the right direction..
