I have to agree with you. In over 3 years of travel i dont think we have met a better more down to earth group of people, who made us feel very welcome and like we had known them forever.
So thankyou from us to fr making our days at Green so much fun.

sounds like a great get together and any excuse such as a birthday party is always the best. Hopefully that is a record and will take some beating we think.
Happy Birthday John

Sue and Don,
you're starting in the forum with an advantage. You know some of us already. Most of of us came in cold turkey and have met up after. Great to meet you. Might see you at Greens again.

Gday...
Finally someone has accurately identified the "lure and attraction" of the place known as Greens.
Greens, the place, is not the attraction. It is at best a fairly good camp spot as long as the locals with their speedboats, jetskis, noise, crowds etc are not there. Very basic amenities and, except for a walk along the shore of the lake or around the padocks, there is not much to do there.
What has raised the place known as Greens to its heights as "mecca" for members of this forum is exactly as you say "I don't think we have met a better more down to earth group of people, who made us feel very welcome and like we had known them forever."
And for that, we must all be truly thankful.
I think the answer to "why Greens?" must be "in the water" - it seems all inhibitions melt away to those who camp there. Exuberance and hi-jinx come to the fore as the crowds gather around the fire in their chairs, imbibing the exlixer of life beyond the setting of the sun.
And life would not be complete unless these hi-jinx are shared on the GN Forum - ad infinitum. It is an excellent revelation that there is now a Green's sub-forum as I can now avoid silliness should I wish to - or browse and smile ... or shake my head and move on.
Happy camping and long live Greens as it will keep so many campers away from my favourite spots
cheers - John
