I have used them many times T5 when not 'Alternative' camping and have no complaints at all. I always do my bidding on-line through the web site and check the site weekly for any good auctions being offered.
This time of year tends to slow a bit with CV site offers though. I have only ever bid for CV sites and usually bid 1/2 + $10.00 first off then if needed go up in $1.00 increments till accepted. Another thing I do, and I maybe giving away a secret is, I check when the auction closes then bid about 20 mins before and I tell you that for free.
I am currently checking every couple of days for a particular CV park in Southern Victoria I like and will go for that as soon as it is offered, it is a regular. I won't tell you what CV park though, sorry.
A good thing about CV park site auctions is they are for 10 nights and you can split them into 2 groups of 5 if it suits you better. You pay 'Travel Auctions' but arrange dates with the actual provider. I find it works for me anyway and all providers I have arranged with have been helpful and friendly.
I have nothing to do with 'Tavel Auctions' just a very happy camper.

I've used travel auctions deals quite a bit. The parks are variable in quality but so far there's only been one that I thought wasn't up to scratch. I also bid 1/2 + $20 and so far I've always been successful. To my mind, one of the real benefits (apart from 10 cheap days in a CP of course) is that I've stayed in places that I probably wouldn't have gone to otherwise.
Has anyone ever put in a bid on a powered site with travel auction? If so was it what you expected?
The site I was looking at is http://www.travelauctions.com.au/travel-auctions/powered-sites/
