Hi all,

           just having pulled into Coober Pedy for a couple of days, I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on who you get a fair deal from and who to avoid??

           from what I gather, one can leave here with an opal or two that you later find out are not quite as genuine as one might think, or expect.

           People don't normally get to Coober Pedy too many times in the same lifetime, especially from interstate, so would like to leave with a genuine item and not something made to look genuine.

           Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey KW we were in coober pedy this time last year and look around a lot. Ended up getting a ring at Umoona opal cave good people and a good deal. Also don't forget to have a pizza in town they are the best.

Thanks heaps for the tips. Yes will definitely check the pizza shop out also. Finished up purchasing from Opalios, seemed the friendliest and had a friend check out the quality for me. Bought a lovely solid opal and a good price and left really happy. And do you know what? Even if it not the most genuine buy possible, as long as I never know, all will be good.
