Fantastic Oasis in the middle of nowhere (well almost) check road conditions before travelling, mostly gravel road, it is between Mullewa and Gascoyne Junction.
Powered sites $25 a night and cheap fuel (diesel and petrol), the Murchison Shire Admin and Works depot is also at this locality, dubbed the shire with no town. Roadhouse/caravan park hosts Debbie and Geoff are fantastic company and most helpful....Clean modern facilities, free gas BBQ and green grassed sites.
Loving your updates. As we are heading over that way next week its good timing for us.
Enjoy your travels and I'll keep an eye out for your next update.
Cheers Dianne

Thanks Dianne, good time to be heading north in WA now, need to be Carnarvon and north to get the good weather. The reckon that because of the good rains they've had around Mullewa and south of it there will be a bumper year for wildflowers in August/September.

It's about mid way roughly between Mullewa (200 kms) and Gascyone Junction (approx. 300 kms) on mostly gravel road and has a couple of river crossings and subject to flooding etc (and road sometimes closed) so that could deter some people. Also very dusty.
But a very worthwhile trip and a beautiful caravan park to visit, it has some stores, a café and very cheap fuel (petrol and diesel) at the roadhouse in front of the caravan park. Ablutions very clean and modern. The Managers Geoff and Debbie are very nice and helpful people and will join happy hour if they have the time. See this link for prices and contact details of the Roadhouse/Park;
The shire is said to be the only one without a town and the shire admin and works depots are also housed at the settlement. Also a museum and telescope tracking site, see; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shire_of_Murchison
Staying there was the highlight of my trip and was well worth the distance and roads, a unique experience.

We are currently care taking at the Murchison Museum just 500m from the caravan park. A great little museum and well worth the time to visit. The wildflowers are just starting to come out up this way as well. there are a few other attractions to see around here like Erribiddy Bluff. 12km out of town. very peaceful.
