The Barons NSW Origin III Player Ratings
1. Jarryd Hayne (7.5) The Blues most dangerous player. His route running though suggests he is probably not ready for the NFL.
2. James McManus (3) The Baron thought he had missed the bus from Newcastle. His powers of invisibility are quite amazing.
3. Josh Dugan (7) Scored a nice try and had plenty of time with the ball in his hands. Nice stitch-up to get a run in the centres. Will look back in years to come and laugh about playing in the line.
4. Josh Morris (1.5) Extremely selfish decision to play. Clearly still injured. Did nothing but hobble around like an old cripple.
5. Daniel Tupou (3) Looks like a giraffe and played like one too. Was not used in attack and hardly threw himself into the picture either.
6. Josh Reynolds (3) The Baron loves Grub but even he is struggling to defend his Game III performance. Has the right attitude but gee he can miss a tackle. Dessie wont be real chuffed with the three-week suspension.
7. Trent Hodkinson (6) Far from disgraced, which isnt a bad result for the slowest, least talented back on the paddock. Had some nice touches and even threatened the line.
8. Paul Gallen (8) As solid as a rock. Few personal highlights outside of his literary pre-game team assessment but dug deep and was a proud shield-lifter.
9. Robbie Farah (6.5) Opened his yapper to call out Cameron Smith in what was one of the more idiotic moves of the series. Was duly embarrassed by him. Solid defensively but created nothing.
10. Aaron Woods (6) Fired up like a wild boar on heat early on. Didnt do a lot as the game wore deep but did deliver a nice bird to the Maroons fans as the Blues mounted a comeback in the second half.
11. Beau Scott (8) Beau Scott has a grizzly bear rug in his lounge room. The bear isnt dead, it is just afraid of being tackled by Beau Scott.
12. Ryan Hoffman (7) Pulled out a typical Ryan Hoffman game, getting plenty of work done, most of it not noticed. Threatening to knock the beard off Storm teammate Will Chambers was a highlight.
13. Greg Bird (5) Aggression is good but sometimes it can turn into downright stupidity and Bird found himself in the dumb zone more than once. Copped an elbow to the throat. Now does a great Gary Larson impression.
14. James Tamou (1.5) Hopeless. Laurie Daley hopes he gets in a car drunk or finds a lady in a yellow dress. The way he played, he will be more likely wearing a yellow dress than a blue jumper himself next year.
15. Boyd Cordner (4.5) Solid enough and will be around for a long time to come. Not a lot of opportunities but did his part by getting rid of Mitchell Pearce.
.16. Trent Merrin (2.5) He must have done something to Laurie because he only got a few minutes. Maybe Laurie is just bitter this bloke gets to date Sally Fitzgibbon.
17. Luke Lewis (3.5)
He must have thought he was wearing the Cronulla blue because he did as much as he normally does at club level.

The Barons Queensland Origin III Player Ratings
1. Billy Slater (8) A performance for the purists but a cracking one just the same. Billy has gotten better as the series went on. Few players possess his incredible touch.
2. Darius Boyd (7) Found the tryline to tie Greg Inglis as Origins most prolific tryscorer. Did it possessing a wispy redneck beard that wouldnt have been out of place in Deliverance.
3. Greg Inglis (6.5) The big Bunnies custodian has had a quiet series and he didnt get much more lively in the final match. Found himself involved but that was more geography than will.
4. Justin Hodges (8) Playing with the enthusiasm of a 28-year-old which he really is after missing so much time through injury and getting the job done. Always gets himself into the mix. Great try assist.
5. Will Chambers (7) Wasnt overawed on debut particularly after an early mix-up with Billy Slater but it is terribly disappointing he shaved of his Teen Wolf beard.
6. Johnathan Thurston (7.5) Produced his best game of the series. Probed all night and finally cracked the left edge late. Loved playing all over Josh Reynolds.
7. Cooper Cronk (8) His presence for the rest of the series may have kept the shield in Queensland. Adds structure to a brilliant side.
8. Jacob Lillyman (7) Was fearless early on. The Maroons lost nothing with Lillyman replacing Scott. Bent the line with every run. Even delivered a rare offload.
9. Cameron Smith (8) Crossed for the opening try and controlled traffic all night. His politicking of the officials was something to behold.
10. Nate Myles (7.5) Loves playing Origin footy though prefers the grubby old days. Bonus point for best beard on the ground. Double bonus point for attacking the throat of his Titans teammate.
11. Aidan Guerra (7.5) Turned in an absolute belter in just his second Origin match. He is a long-termer, no risk. He is all arms, legs and heart, with just a little bit of bum fluff.
.12. Sam Thaiday (7.5) Slammin Sam bloody loves his Origin footy. He thrashes around like a robot filled with water. Knows more about how to win a quick play-the-ball than he does about how to put a pair of pants on.
13. Corey Parker (9) The undisputed Man of the Match. A shame the $34 was gobbled up so quickly at halftime. The offload king, his ability to create second phase play got Queensland home.
.14. Daly Cherry-Evans (6.5) Did exactly as required when coming on, setting up the first try with a punchy run and clever kick. All class. Well, except for his haircut.
15. Ben Teo (4.5) Came onto the field and made it count by flattening Trent Hodkinson and conceding first points. Time to go to rugby now.
16. Matt Gillett (3) He appeared to be a concussion replacement only. Did nothing. Probably didnt need to though.
17. Dave Taylor (-2) Hopeless. Just hopeless. Lucky to be in first grade after that performance. Can drop a ball.
