Has anyone done the drive from the coast (WA) in to Mt Augustus
Everything I can find online suggests it's OK but I don't always believe what the tourist websites say (after all they are trying to get you to visit!)
Probably going late Sept/early Oct
Cheers

All the roads that we have driven in that area over the years have been pretty good. Dusty, a bit of loose gravel, but no drama.
THANKS for that bit of good news Peter,
One less thing to worry about now
Cheers,
Andrew

Of course, they might be all different next week :)
Best advise is go and have a look yourself and adjust your driving to suit what you find.
Cheers,
Peter

Hi Andrew,
have just done this trip got back a week ago. Came in from Minilya Roadhouse. No other traffic to be seen, Road condition was good, gravel all the way, watch out for the Grid's and there are lots of "dips" that sneek up on you. Came out from Cobra /Dairy creek road to Gascoyne junction, again road was good. We were in a Pathfinder with a 20ft van, only got 1 puncture which a couple of other people seemed to get as well. The guy at the homestead can help if plugs dont work. Great place once your there you have to pay $1.75 p/litre to refill but so be it. Well worth the trip. Peaceful. Only 6-8 staying across our 3 days.

Thanks for that Budm8 .. I was expecting closer to $2 / litre hopefully if I don't go too hard shouldn't get too many punctures.
