Thxs for all the feedback I suspected as much , by the way I did check all 4 wheels and all similar. Though I haven't done bearings before I'm fairly handy so
I think I'd like to take them out clean them and repack them then install them . Whats the best cleaning agent , grease spec ( high temp ) and method.
For those who told me , I am going to speak to the co today , I'm angered that they had someone do the job that did not obviously have the experience by the look of it .

I wash bearings and most parts with diesel, its a light oil so lubes at the same time. Kero or petrol are ok but dry out your skin.
Any quality high temp bearing grease will do the job.
Bearings if looked after will last at least 200k.

Get a pr of missus kitchen rubber gloves and give good scrub with Kero.
and long narrow bristled brush. rinse with clean Kero.
Then get some GOOD. "HMP" (High melting point grease) Look on Net as to how to hand pack them.
Grab a bunch of grease and start at it.
Easy but messy.
Make sure you go ALL round with it squeezing grease out the top of cages.
Have fun.
ALSOOOOO.
Check on how to set the bearing slop on net.
basically controlled by position of hole for split pin.
Over tighten first. Then back off to pin hole.
Make sure wheel spins completely. freely. with NO top and bottom slop.
and NOT too tightly.

In addition to the previous advice, don't forget to instal a new oil seal.....the old one is usually destroyed during disassembly.

Normally bearing kits come with seal included in pack.

The poster is repacking his old bearings Macka so he will not have a bearing and seal pack! Must admit I've used the old battered seal on box trailers but never on a braked axle.

Dont use petrol to clean I have seen the results of someone cleaning with petrol
It doesnt take much to get a spark

Kero with rubber gloves.
Gets ALL clean if you get in everywhere.
then evaporated completely dry afterwards.
Make sure you hand pack fully and you good for another 20k.
Unless using in water or sand.
ALL my trailers. Including the smaller van hubs.
Get fitted with boat trlr hub greaser kits.
I haven't seen any for the bigger sq bearing kits.
They keep you fully greased in all conditions.
Well worth the extra bucks.
Wind just blew down 5 Bismark Palm branches in front garden.
Off to shed for chain saw and annoy the neighbours
