I've been on Prospecting Sabbatical and am taking my 3 Grandkids, all on the autism spectrum, plus my Wife/Daughter to Greens on 9th January for a week....Kayak, fish, etc...
Q1. How crowded is Greens L. at the moment?...have the Van and going to pitch a Family Size tent etc...still reasonable room at that time? Have camped on the grassy centre previously, not far from water's edge..
Q2. Can I use a small folding fire pit at that time? ...it is professionally designed to prevent any ash on the ground and sits on aluminium tray.. I carry adequate woodettes. I realize Total Fire Ban days is a total fire prohibition.
Looking forward to doing very little really...lol..
Appreciate any responses. Many thanks. I trust 2017 will be a ripper of a year for you all, with good health and happiness......

Always somewhere GF. Maybe not water side but somewhere. It seems quieter than I thought it would be as we speak, for this time of year.

Thanks Doug, wish you a safe trip..maybe next time?...
Do you have an opinion on the small firepit idea?...the grandies have a popcorn maker similar to Jaffle Iron, plus marshmellows and spuds in foil...... and want a small fire...Hoo Roo

Your fire pit sounds much better than what MOST people that insist on open fire at Greens, and most of those people just up and go leaving the remains for others to clean up so the can camp. There was 2 big fires going last night near me and it was a 30c day.
No fires total fire ban days though as we all know.
