We have a two-barrel water filter system under our sink. One of the barrels is leaking at the O-ring seal (there are two O-rings, an inner and an outer- the outer is weeping a little water).
My first thought was that the filter was blocked, but on examination it does not appear very dirty, and is only a few months old. I cleaned the O-rings and put them back in place and re-tightened the barrel, but while this reduced the leak slightly it is still there. The o-rings appeared to be OK.
It isn't an urgent problem- a piece of toweling soaks up the drips easily over 24 hours- but I am at a bit of a loss as to what to try next. I wondered if replacing the o-rings would help, and if so, where to obtain them. Or maybe silicone grease on the O-rings to enable me to tighten them a little more?
Does anyone with experience of these units have any suggestions?
Cheers

Check that there is not "dirt" under the O ring seats
After that change the O rings

Yep add a little Vasoline or pipe lube to O ring on assembly ., Make sure there is no tension on pile to O ring . I found mine leaked with those push on fittings ., I got the Mrs hair dryer on plastic hoses with the heat of hair dryer I vent and formed hose to enter O fitting straight . No more leaks ., Well the pump stayed off overnight !! Lol

Another vote for checking out the O-ring situation. A small amount of grit caught up in its carrier can force a drip. And as noted by aus-kiwi - tension on the O-ring when tightening the canister twist or pinch it and start the ball rolling. (Personally I would use something like hydroseal in preference to vaso, as hydroseal is a food grade lubricant and cheap enough) www.bunnings.com.au/hydroseal-15g-thread-lubricant-tube_p4923331

Thanks folks, that's just the info I was looking for. Will replace the o-rings and lubricate with hydroseal before assembly. I've already tried cleaning everything with no result.
