I don't know a heck of a lot about Sat T.V. so all help will be taken on board.
Thanks K.J.

I don't know anything about that one but I have, and swear by my Satking box.
I think you are in Perth, if so give Access Antennas in Osbourne Park a call.
They are very trustworthy to get you the system you need.
Cheers Neil

We don't have a satellite receiver for the caravan, but if we were in the market I would be looking at walking into a shop to make the purchase
You then have someone to help iron out the bugs when you first set it up
I personally don't like e-bay, but the receiver you linked to is non returnable and specifically states that if you have problems registering the unit you are on your own

Hi K.J.
We have the sat king. Very easy to operate. We to got ours of ebay and the seller with the best price is at Osborne Park and still is there. Cheaper then buying in Sydney.
Good service. We paid $230-5 from memory a few years back, delivered.
It tells you where the satelites are. I use my Iphone to lock on to them. Takes but a few minutes to set up.
Regards Jim

Delta and Jims advice is sound...I obtained my 'complete' kit from Access Antennas W.A... $700 odd included a mini handheld TV which plugs in externally or internally to confirm your Sat setting is correct..complete with sound...in remote areas I've been known to sit out under the stars and watch the mini set without even going inside the Van.....I found them helpful/honest and knowledgeable..and they Couriered the lot to Bendigo pronto........their system including their dish guarantees 100% coverage anywhere in Australia and I have found that to be correct.....I should add that is providing you are in correct line of sight with the Sat..high fences/trees etc in front of you can be a problem with hitting the correct Sat....Good luck K.J..Hoo Roo

If you want to record stuff while you are out make sure the Vast receiver has an option for external drive of memory stick to store recorded programs I got one from itechworld.com.au/ from WA with free freight. made sure the Vast box was a higher end one so I could watch one channel and record another which is what the wife and I do on our IQ box at home happy with it when we are on the road just miss the Foxtel channels though.

Thanks for all the replies Folks, I've since sussed out the Receiver that seems to be everyone's favorite, the Satking.
I can get one of these sets from Access supplies, and they have a shop here in Perth, and this set off Evil Bay just happens to be $10.00 cheaper than the set I first looked at AU $237.00 with free delivery............
I already have a Satellite finder, Compass and a disk, so it looks like I'm more than half way there already.
Thank you all for your recommendations.

KJ - have a look on Evil Bay for a little TV screen (small enough to hold in your hand) - takes the place of the compass, finder and makes the set up quick and easy rather than stuffing round being a girl guide.
Don't buy them from a retail shop - I think (the clouds of dementia swirl around) from memory that they are about $40-60 or so and they are set up for the Optus sat you need to point your dish out. The advantage of a little telly screen is you can see the pic and know youre not going to get a knock on the RV door from the CIA because you've pointed at a nearby sat

Google 'Marriage Saver Sat Finder". Access Antennas would have them too.
G'day all, I'm thinking of buying a Sat receiver for the Caravan,
What I would like to know is, what do you think is the best Brand and type of Vast receiver that you use ?
Has anyone got and are using this receiver..........
