Many years ago a farmer couple gave birth to a son....
They named him "Odd"...
When little Odd began going to school, all his classmates teased him because of his name.
Odd finally graduated and got a factory job and all his co-workers invariably poked fun at his name.
Odd eventually got married and lived and worked a farm, since Odd could not take being around people teasing him about his name.
On Odd's 50th birthday he told his wife he was fed up with going through life with the name 'Odd'...
He told her when he died that would end it.....and no one would ever make fun of him again...
Accordingly Odd requested that his wife not put his name on his headstone...only the date he was born and the date he died..would suffice...
Some 20 years later poor 'Odd' passed on....
His wife never forgot Odd's wishes and honoured his wish with purchasing a headstone with no name engraved...just the date he was born and the date he died.
To this day mourners visit his cemetary and as they walk by and look at his simple headstone with no name................... invariably say,
