Hi all, was just washing van ready for summer ,I thought I would give the fridge and hot water a run and low and behold water pump was a no go . The van is only a few years old and water pump hasent done much work as we mainly stay in parks with water and power. It has power to pump and water tanks full, is there some type of pressure switch ?

Yes most caravan pumps have a pressure switch built into the pump and its not uncommon for them to become defective. My pumps pressure switch died sometime ago and I bypassed it using some manual on off switches. I did this because the pressure switch replacement was almost as much as a new pump. I was quoted $190 for a new pressure switch or $260 for a complete new pump. My bypass worked well for over 12 months till someone left a switch on and the pump burned out. I've just replaced the pump with a boat washdown pump which was cheaper than a caravan water pump despite the pumps being 100% identical and sold from the same place.

PS.
You CAN. buy "rebuilt" pumps for around $100\150 or so.
I bought one as a backup yrs ago.
