My rear bar on our van broke on way back from up north , the diesel heater tank was mounted behind the spare wheel .
I drained the tank and took it off to remove the bar , I taped over the end of the diesel hose so nothing would get in it.
I have had the bar rewelded and am fitting it back on today . Whats the best way to prime the diesel heater again . The tank is higher than the
heater will it just gravitate to the heater .

My Eberspacher technician, who only did the final electrical terminal connections, told me that it was not necessary to prime the fuel line. He said, "just activate the heater. It will go through it's start up routine twice and then shutdown because the pump hasn't yet sucked all the air out of the line. You may need to repeat this process 2 or 3 or more times to get all air out of the line." He was right. Heater fired up on the third activation.

just keep trying until it starts. You may have to disconnect the battery each time to clear the fault code

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Sorry. I blame it on a few of my aged, fading cells.

With my diesel heater, (the type Pinnacle sell) the digital control panel has a sequence to push which is for first run (or subsequent tank hookup etc). It runs the pump quite fast to pump the fuel through the line quickly, then automatically goes back to normal pumping when it sees diesel.
Cheers, John.

When I installed mine I used a small amount of air pressure to push the fuel down the line to the pump then let the pump do the rest and couldn't get it to work until i turned the pump around the right way made a big difference to it, I blame DOUGWE's uncle Al for that.
So I would expect that as yours is already primed it should continue to suck the fuel through without a problem .
