We have a 2012 Crusader caravan,but the number plate is too high,asked Crusader what they would do about it sent me anew number plate surround plus extra wire .Problem now is I need to get to the wires at rear of brake light cluster,there are no screws holding it on only silastic,removed as much as I can but still won't come off.Anyone taken the cluster off before
I'm not familiar with those lights but it looks like the lenses might clip out and therefore the screws might be under them. Looking at the image there's 4 small rectangular sections (Lugs) on each lens at 11, 1, 5 and seven o'clock, on similar fittings it's a matter of prying off the lenses using a small flat blade screwdriver.
Again I could be wrong but looking at the picture that's what it looks like to me.

I had the numberplate too high as well with the same problem so relocated the number plate to left side on a small aluminium box. I had lockers on rear left side so went in the bottom one and cut a small hole behind lights. I joined wires through that then covered hole.
If you have access like mine then maybe do the same thing. It worked for me so might work out for you.
I checked with police to make sure the plate was ok on left side. All good.

Thanks,Steve and Dougwe,I will have a look tommorow,it is too late now,so I will dream about it tonight.Unfortunately I will have to lower it on the right hand side and no tool box where to hide wires.I am hoping that I can get in between the skins to route the wires.What I cannot understand is last year in Warwick Qld we asked the police and they said that they were not bothered abut it so we didn't bother until SWMBO got the ghitters and bugged me to do it.So here goes nothing .

The box I put on the back has no weight in it, I just put some cut pieces of those pool noodles in it that I use on the bottom of guy ropes when awning is out.
When I spoke to the police in Warrnambool VIC it was the traffic guys and they said similar, "I have better things to do than worry about number plate heights" "people speeding or hooning is much more important". He did say though that "if you give me a hard time I will look for anything to book ya for" "and enjoy doing so". He was a very friendly cop and we chatted for while about various things to do with CV's and travelling. He also siad that "the main reason for the lower height was due to the roadside cameras in cars as they can only pick up to a the legal height". Sounded reasonable at the time. But don't agree fully but didn't say that to him not me, no way. There were actually two other traffic cops and the desk cop in the mix as well. All seemed good blokes.

All good this morning SWMBO worked it out,there are 4 lugs around the edge,thin blade screw driver gently pry top two out and out it pops.So now comes fun part trying to get wires in cavity,thought I would reply just in case anyone needs to know how to get sealed units out.

I for one can not see where the lugs are, by looking at the original picture

Sorry taken so long,took longer to get cable through cavity,all good now.The lugs are at 2-4-8-10 on the large inside dia,small screwdriver gently pry lens out,the lug sits behind large rib on lens outside dia,all wired up now when it cools down tommorow I will clean it all up and resilastic up look for next maintenance jobs
