The anti rattle bolt is only used when you have a tongue inserted and you are not towing.There is no way that bolt will endure the forces of a vehicle on the back. Just bend up a u-bolt to fit the unit and tighten it up similar to the above diagram or as you did, shim up the freeplay.An old steel rule will usually do the trick.

WDH are not designed to deal with sway. They are designed to put load back on the front from the weight on the tow bar.
If you do not experience sway, it is either a by product of the WDH or more than likely a well balanced van.

deverall11, their are WDH that do control sway. The Lindon WDH is one that works. I had one on my previous van which had a single axil. The only time when that van swayed was when being overtaken by a bus or truck. With the Lindon WDH on their was no sway. Plus they do not have to be removed to reverse.
The bars were attached to a bracket that the bars slided in. Their is another one on the market now that looks like an "ezy- lift" system and uses the same system as the ezy- lift.
Neither of these systems have chains.

The problem is it uses ONE bolt or pin to hold it in place . I was going to add another pin ? But thought about strength, compliance ? So I welded, built it up, the end of inner slid in touque to be very tight . Solved all the movement issues . Any initial movement just gets worse over time !!

Where are the links to these units? Preferably Australian based. There is no point in recommending an overseas unit that will cost the earth to ship here just to nit pick and prove a point.
I did find an overseas supplier and thery describe the unit as "Introducing the E2 hitch with weight distribution and integrated sway control." They recognise it as a unit thart incorporates the two actions in one unit. I therefore concur with Deveral's statement.

My towbar mob drill up from underneath thru a section that was double thickness,
tapped and put a 15/16" bolt solved the problem completely no more movement.

Ended up drilling it out damage the thread by doing so
I did not like the free play anyway 3mm i ended up putting
2mm L flashing inside the receiver with the normal bolt through
I tow a 2.5 ton van no more rattles

You need one off these.
