I travel full-time and my van would do probably 13,000 to 17,000Km per year depending on how often I move around chasing sights.
I have a 'chassis service' every January - includes, checking wheel bearings, brakes and suspension and a general go over of the outside of the van.
Wheel bearings get removed, checked, repacked and reassembled each service. I stay and 'watch and help' when the service is being conducted.
Bearings were replaced at the January 2016 service which is probably somewhere between 60,000 and 80,000Km usage.
I had brake linings and drums and magnets changed three years ago - they were OK last service in January 2017 - but will see how they are next month for their next scheduled check ... might need a new set but brakes are working fine at the moment.

I suppose this is a bit slack but every couple of years I think it's about time I had a look at the bearings and wash regtease and replace the seals,never found a bearing that was worn out ever,but every five years I put a new set in on average,we travel
about three or four mths of the year,to me bearings are something virtually last for years but need to be checked sometimes for piece of mind...

There is absolutely no need to service a van more frequently than a vehicle, you can keep an eye on things doing checks yourself by feeling for undue heat around hubs, jacking up one side at a time and checking each wheel for play, removing wheels and checking brake linings.

I check the hubs for heat often.
Mostly on the black top at this stage. Will be about 25000km by the time we get to Beaudesert where the service centre we use is at.

Before every big trip . Especially if itās been a while between the last one . It could sound right and tight ? Itās not hard to repackor add a little extra grease ..Gives you a chance to check brake operation / wear etc also .

Water crossings == more often
If u are running the axles /bearings to there load limit or close to .
Every 20,000kms
Land Cruisers do every 40 thou km but that's not fully loaded all the time as per van . [Even toyota say more often under adverse conditions ]
For a van this also depends on how big the bearings /axle combo are compared too the load its carrying .

Do majority off road (12" Simplicity) every 40000k's check & repack.
Only ever use Morey's Super Premium High Temperature Waterproof Grease.
In 10+yrs fulltime never ever had a problem with water or bulldust ingress.
Replace steel grease seals every time never use rubber ones or Recycle
at approx $4 each that a lot cheaper than a set of bearings.
